The multiple Pulitzer Prize winner Norman Mailer died aged 84 in 2007.
At times controversial, he helped create a genre of 20th century writing that combined fact and fiction. He won the Pulizter Prize twice. In 1960 for The Armies of the Night and in 1980 for the Executioner's Song.
