Introduction

This course is designed to be an introduction to potential careers in early childhood education, general education of learners in child care environments as well as parenting skills. It equips learners with a broad set of practical skills, attitudes and essential knowledge that are valuable in providing preparation for further training to become a child care educator, teacher assistant, early childhood asssitant or act as a play group volunteer. Skills are also developed suitable for other volunteer capacities such as sport coaching, dance, youth groups, holiday camps, vacation care and employment as an au pair.
