Isherwood, Christopher (1904-1986)

Christopher William Bradshaw-Isherwood was born on the 26th of August 1904, in High Lane, Cheshire and died 4th January 1986, in Santa Monica, California. Isherwood was an Anglo-American novelist and playwright best known for his novels about Berlin in the early 1930s. He had connections with many other authors, playwrights and poets such as W.H. Auden and is particularly known for his outsider's commentary on the rise of Nazisim in 1930's Germany as well as being a vocal supporter in later life of the homosexual rights cause.
