Redox

'The term "redox" is used by chemists as an abbreviation for the process of reduction and oxidation. These two process usually occur simultaneously. Redox reactions include processes such as burning, rusting and respiration. Antoine Lavoisier (1743-1794), the father of modern chemistry, was the first to explain the redox reactions that occur during burning.
