Szymborska, Wislawa (1923-2012)

Wislawa Szymborska is Polish poet whose intelligent and empathic explorations of philosophical, moral, and ethical issues won her the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1996. Her other awards include the Polish Pen Club prize, an Honorary Doctorate from Adam Mickiewicz University, the Herder Prize, and The Goethe Prize.
