Bob Dylan is a legendary American singer, songwriter, artist, and poet.  Since launching his first album as a folk singer in 1962 he has been born and reborn time and again. His celebrated early work in the sixties chronicled the social unrest of the time. His move to electric instruments created a storm of protest in the folk music establishment.

In 1966 after a reported motorcycle accident he became a recluse not touring again for nearly eight years.  His work and life has continued to evolve, not inhibited by style and his wider literary acceptance, which saw many regard him as a 'romantic-visionary poet'.

He has written over 200 songs which have been recorded by over 2000 artists. In October 2016, Bob Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
